Stainless steel has a microscopically thin layer of oxide on the surface of the steel, which is called the passive layer. The passive layer is homogeneous, impermeable and protective. Passive layer forms on the pickled and shining surfaces. Any sort of contamination on the surface prevents the formation of the passive layer. After the pickling process, the application of the passivation liquid to the surface simulates the build-up of the passive layer in a short period of time. CP-100 Passivation Liquid is eco-friendly.

Reaction Time: ~30 minutes

Consumption: 6 – 10 m²/kg

Application: Use CEROX FRD-100 Surface Cleaner to remove the contamination, grease and oil from the surface. Pickle the surface (using CEROX TSK-100 Pickling Paste, CEROX TSK-100 Pickling Paste Extra, CEROX SPK-100 Pickling Spray, CEROX SPK-100 Pickling Spray Extra, CEROX PRO-MIG Pickling Spray or CERINOX T-100 Pickling Bath). The surface should be shiny and lustrous. Apply CEROX CP-100 Passivation Liquid to the surface with a brush, with a high-pressure pump or by immersing it. Use a 100 – 150 bar high-pressure water jet to wash thoroughly.

Caution: Do not apply it under sunlight. Do not apply it to hot surfaces. Beware that using moist and/or wet microfiber cloth for the application process and/or applying on a moist and/or wet surface may not result in adequate cleaning. Use goggles, gloves, and appropriate protective clothing during application. In case of skin contact wash the contact area with plenty of water. Store in a cool place away from direct sunlight. Ideal room temperature for application is 20°C. At colder temperatures increase the application time.
